About ABI Tape

American Biltrite

American Biltrite got its start in 1908 as a producer of rubber products and one of the earliest product offerings was friction tape, which positions us as one of the country’s first tape manufacturers. Historic Trenton NJ, once the rubber manufacturing capital of the world, was the birthplace of American Biltrite more than 100 years ago.

Today American Biltrite consists of three major businesses.

  • The Tape Division produces adhesive coated, pressure sensitive papers and films used to temporarily protect material surfaces during handling and storage or to serve as a carrier for transferring decals and die-cut lettering. The Division also produces pressure sensitive adhesive tapes for applications in heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), footwear, automotive, composite bonding, electrical and electronic industries.
  • K & M Associates designs, supplies and distributes a wide variety of adult, children’s and specialty items of fashion jewelry and related accessories throughout North America. K & M wholesales its products to mass merchandisers, specialty and department stores.
  • American Biltrite Canada Ltd produces resilient floor tile, rubber tiles, rolled rubber flooring and industrial products including conveyor belting, truck splash guards and sheet rubber material.

The Tape Division is headquartered in Moorestown, NJ where the protective films and papers are produced. A second domestic manufacturing plant, Ideal Tape, located in Lowell MA, is home to the products serving the HVAC, footwear, electrical, electronic and composite bonding industries.

The Division operates converting facilities in Belgium, Singapore and Italy, where master rolls are converted into smaller sizes. Sales offices at the Belgium, Singapore and Italy locations and sales representatives in Shanghai, Bangkok and Seoul enable quicker response to customer demands in the European and Asian markets.

ISO Certified QMS All products are designed in our fully equipped and expertly staffed Research & Development department, and are manufactured to the ISO 9001:2008 standard. We have been ISO registered since 1993.

The Tape Division’s products are sold primarily through a worldwide network of select industry-focused distributors and converters.
